The USDA’s Farm Service Agency is urging Minnesota farmers to vote in the FSA’s county committee elections by the Dec. 7 deadline.
Producers must return their ballots to their local FSA offices by the close of business next Monday. Newly elected committee members and alternates take office Jan. 1.
FSA county committees help administer federal farm programs. Members make decisions on the local level about conservation programs, commodity price support loans and payments, disaster assistance payments and other farm issues.
More than 8,000 county committee members serve in more than 2,300 local FSA offices nationwide.
